Obituary for Frances M. "Frankie" Meller

Frances M. "Frankie"  Meller
Mrs. Frances M. “Frankie” Meller, age 87 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Adams Street Nursing Center surrounded by her family.

Frankie was born May 5, 1930 in Jefferson City, Mo. the daughter of Nicholas and Caroline Distler Hentges. She was married on April 20, 1948 at St. Peter Catholic Church in Jefferson City to Bernard Meller, who preceded her in death on February 4, 2009.

A resident of the Jefferson City area for most of her life, Frankie attended St. Peter High School.

A homemaker, Frankie had been employed in the cafeteria at St. Peter Catholic School and later operated an in home day care center for several years.

She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit, Mo.

Her life revolved around supporting her family and she will be remembered for her selfless nature. She loved cooking for her ever growing family and maintained a garden to can vegetables to feed everyone. She cherished time embroidering quilts for special occasions for her children and grandchildren. Frankie enjoyed playing cards with her sisters, nieces and nephews and would never turn down watching a good western movie.

Survivors include: seven children, Joyce Langendoerfer (Roger) of Lake Saint Louis, Mo., Suzy Noblett (Gary) of Wardsville, Mo., Marilyn Meller (Jim) of Traverse City, Michigan, Daryl Meller (Melissa) of Taos, Mo., Donny Meller (Wanda) of Osage Bend, Mo., Carey Cavender (Mike) of Brazito, Mo., and Janet Schulte (Kevin) of Brazito, Mo., ten grandchildren, Derek Langendoerfer (Ericka), Chris Noblett (Julie), Sarah Scarfino (Rick), Colby Noblett (Jenn), Aubrey Winkelman (Jeff), Amanda Scruggs (Chris), Anne Langendoerfer (Kelly), Stacey Rackers (Jimmy), Zach Schulte (Olivia) and Seth Schulte (Emily); twenty-five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty years, Bernie, two grandchildren, Jesse Meller on April 9, 2000 and Bethany Schulte on November 24, 1985, three brothers and six sisters.

Visitation will be at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit, Mo. from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2018 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Holts Summit, Mo. with the Reverend Joseph Corel officiating. Interment will be at St. Andrew Cemetery.
