Obituary for Louza R. Smith
Louza Rae Smith, age 77, of Russellville, Mo., died Monday, December 4, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.
Rae was born on February 8, 1940 in Jefferson City, Mo. a daughter of the late Herbert and Iva (Roark) Lairmore. She was married on June 11, 1961 in California, Mo. to Freddie Smith who preceded her in death on October 4, 1993.
Rae attended school in Bay, Mo. She was an avid reader and had a love for horses and the countryside. As a homemaker, Rae was the foundation of her family. She enjoyed cooking, family gatherings and spoiling her grandchildren. She was also a woman of faith and member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include: four children, Jerry (Mary Lou) Lairmore of Russellville, Mo., Iva (Marshall) Roark of Russellville, Mo., Linda (Jerald) Unger of Jefferson City, Mo., and Dianna Smith of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Roger Lairmore of Key West, Florida; and numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sons, Freddie Smith and Tommy Smith; two grandsons, Lenord Marshall Roark, Jr. and Anthony “Tony” Unger; a brother, Herbert Lairmore; and a sister, Brenda Bowden.
A private memorial service will be held for family.
