Mrs. Laurentia I. Hamacher, age 90 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at home surrounded by family.
She was born August 17, 1926 in St. Elizabeth, Mo. the daughter of Henry and Tillie (Plassmeyer) Lueckenhoff. She was married, on May 18, 1946 to Carlos Hamacher.
A lifelong resident of the Central Missouri area, Laurentia was a 1944 graduate of Eugene High School.
She was the Office Manager and Dental Assistant for Dr. Roy Dampf, D.D.S. for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1988.
Laurentia was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, St. Peter Altar Sodality, Daughters of Isabella (50 year member), American Legion Auxiliary, Roscoe Enloe Post 5, St. Rita’s Quilting Circle, St. Mary’s Quilting Circle and Quilting Auxiliary, St. Girard’s Card Club, and the Jefferson City Dental Assistance program.
She enjoyed quilting, playing cards and fishing.
Survivors include: her husband of 71 years, Carlos Hamacher; one son, Sam Hamacher (Connie) of Jefferson City, Mo.; two daughters, Sue Adrian (Glen) of Lenexa, Kansas and Mary Miller (Brett) of Jefferson City, Mo.; one sister, Norma Shorter of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother-in-law, Bill Hamacher of Holts Summit, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Matthew Adrian (Claire) of Carl Junction, Mo., Marcus Adrian (Angela) of St. Louis, Mo., Meghan Nichols (Jeffrey) of Lenexa, Kansas, Michael Adrian (Kara) of Kirkwood, Mo., Brian Hamacher of Rocky Mount, Mo., Elizabeth Miller of Jefferson City, Mo., and Lisa Miller of Ashland, Mo.; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leo Lueckenhoff and Larry Lueckenhoff; two sisters-in-law, Edna Lueckenhoff and Marie Hamacher; and one brother-in-law, Dean Shorter.
Visitation will be from 12:00 until 2:00 pm Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church.
Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, June 19, 2017 at St. Peter Catholic Church with the Reverend Simeon Etonu officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum of Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus or to masses at St. Peter Catholic Church.
