Obituary for David C. Humberg

Mr. David Christophe Humberg, age 60 years, of Jefferson City, Mo. passed away Saturday, January 21, 2017 at home surrounded by his family.

David was born on December 5, 1956 in Philadelphia, Penn. a son of Bruno M. and Dolores (Yates) Humberg. He was united in marriage on December 1, 1973 in Hannibal, Mo. to DeAnn Kline. They remained good friends throughout his life and DeAnn survives in
Quincy, Illinois.

David was passionate about cooking and worked in food service his entire professional career. A resident of Chicago, Illinois for the majority of his life, he most recently was employed as a cook with Capital Region Medical Center until ill health forced his retirement in 2012.

He was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles and taking long walks. He cherished time spent with his family, especially when he was able to prepare and share a meal with them.

Survivors include: one son, Christopher Humberg of Kankakee, Illinois; two daughters, Candace Bell (husband Terrell) of Quincy, Illinois and Heather Putt-Ayodeji (husband Olukayode James Ayodeji) of Jefferson City, Mo.; his father, Bruno Humberg of Kankakee, Illinois; one brother, Daan Humberg (wife Debra) of Fairfax County, Virginia; nine grandchildren, Alexander Putt, Michael Putt, Bruno Putt, Brandon Putt, Tiffany Putt, Elizabeth Humberg, Jessica Humberg, Christopher Humberg Jr., and Mercedes Humberg; several great-grandchildren; and special friends and caregivers, Deseray Shafer, Jordan Hester, Delores and Stanley Farris, and Stephen Ben-Namieh.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Jean Humberg in 2008.

A private memorial service will be held to honor David.
