Obituary for Peggy Rose

Peggy  Rose
Mrs. Peggy J. Rose, age 88 years, of Holts Summit, Mo., died Thursday, November 17, 2016 at the home of her niece, Barbara Williams.

Peggy was born April 1, 1928 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of Larkin and Sadie Martin Tuggle. She was married to William “Russ” Rose for fifty-five years until his death in 2015.

A resident of Punta Gorda, Florida for most of her life, Peggy moved to Missouri in 2015 to be with her niece, Barbara Williams.

Peggy and her sister, Lucile Russell were very avid bingo players. It was nothing for them to go as many nights as possible to continue to play bingo. Unfortunately after her move to Missouri, it was not possible to continue her bingo playing. She and Russ were also great square dancers in their earlier years.

Survivors include: her son, Raymond Rose (Shelley) of Punta Gorda, Florida and grandson Justin Rose; a step-daughter, Renee Robins; two grandsons, Zachary and Cody Brown and a great granddaughter, Mila Daphne Brown of Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Canada; and her niece, Barbara Williams who has been her caregiver; and many other nieces, nephews, great great nieces, and great great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Russ” Rose, her parents, Larkin and Sadie Tuggle, six sisters, Thelma Stratman, Edith Baldwin, Pauline Mason, Eleanor Allen, Lucile Russell, and Christine Rhodes, and three brothers, Floyd Tuggle, Berlin Tuggle, and Gordon Tuggle.

There will be private memorial services in Punta Gorda, Florida with her son and friends, and in Jefferson City with relatives, and in Austin, Texas with relatives. Interment will be in the Royal Gordon Memorial Park Cemetery in Punta Gorda, Florida.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to SSM Hospice.
