Obituary for Raymond Bade

Raymond  Bade
Mr. Raymond G. Bade, age 84 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., formerly of Vienna, Mo. passed away Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Rivercity Living Community.

Raymond was born on April 21, 1932 in Maries County, Mo. a son of Lewis “Pop” and Eunie “Mom” (Copeland) Bade.

Raymond attended school at Hughes Chapel in Maries County.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was later honorably discharged in 1956.

A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Raymond was employed as an over the road truck driver and was a house painter for many years. He lived in Vienna for the majority of his life until ill health forced him to move to Jefferson City.

Raymond was a simple man but enjoyed being around people. He loved hunting and fishing, especially if he was doing it with family. One of his favorite places was the Gasconade River and he was fortunate enough to live near it for many years. He was a great cook and loved cooking for others.

Survivors include: ten nieces and nephews, Bernard Bade (Martha) of Guthrie, Leonard Bade of Seattle, Wa., Karl Bade of Rolla, John Bade (Valorie Buzard) of Saudi Arabia, Bill Thompson (Mary) of Jefferson City, Glenda Holtsclaw (Richard) of Dixon, Joyce Cassidy (Chuck) of Dixon, Carol Holleman (Jim) of Holts Summit, Michael Thompson (Cheryl) of Jefferson City and Vickie Bade Holleman Kirsch (John) of Jefferson City; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Genevieve Laurene Thompson; two brothers, Leonard Loyd Bade and Virgel Lee Bade; one niece, Doris Jean Thompson; nephew, Gary Bade, and great nephews, Shawn Gredvig and Jimmy Holleman.

Graveside services and interment with military honors will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018 at Kenner Cemetery in Hayden, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Association.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
