Obituary for Kay Sue Hicks

Kay Sue  Hicks
Mrs. Kay Sue Hicks, age 53 years, of Jefferson City, Mo. passed away Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Capital Region Medical Center.

Kay was born on January 13, 1963 in Jefferson City, Mo. a daughter of Joseph W. and Imogene B. (Clad) Deal.

A lifelong resident of Jefferson City, Kay was employed in homecare with Pyramid Home Health Services and the Independent Living Resource Center for several years. She also helped in housekeeping at the Hampton Inn.

Kay will be remembered for her caring heart and loved spending time with her family. She cherished time with her daughter, Jasmine, and she was the light in Kay’s life. She enjoyed being outdoors, camping and fishing with her family when she was younger. She loved spending time on her computer and being around all animals, especially dogs, cats, and birds.

Survivors include: one daughter, Jasmine Harris of the home; one sister, Rose Dow of Jefferson City, Mo.; her mother, Imogene Deal of Mokane, Mo.; a longtime companion, Thomas Giesing; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Dow.

A private family service will be held at a later time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Kay Hicks Memorial Fund.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
