Obituary for Helen "Dee" Jones

Helen "Dee"  Jones
Mrs. Helen Dolores “Dee” Jones, age 95 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 7, 2016 in the early hours of the morning in St. Louis, Mo.

Dee was born April 14, 1921 in Grafton, Illinois the only child of Clyde Earl and Arlie Irene Wallace Green. She was married on February 3, 1951 at Immaculate Conception Church in Jefferson City to Francis Andrew “Bud” Jones.

She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph.

Dee loved to fish at the Lake of the Ozarks with Bud at their cabin, and use to play Canasta with a lovely group of friends. She was the kindest most gentle person and a wonderful mother and grandmother.

Survivors include: her husband of sixty-five years, Francis “Bud” Jones; one daughter, Patricia Smith and her husband Melvin of Wildwood, Mo.; two granddaughters, Melinda “Mindy” Smith Pollnow and her husband Christopher of Kirkwood, Mo. and Jennifer Renee Smith of Valley Park, Mo.; two great grandchildren, Fairfax Francis and Isla Marie Pollnow. A third great granddaughter is due in December.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Francis Andrew “Andy” Jones and his wife Andrea Gail.

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Wednesday, August 10, 2016.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 10:00 am Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Cathedral of St. Joseph with the Reverend Monsignor Robert Kurwicki officiating. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Building Fund at the Cathedral of St. Joseph or the charity of their choice.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
