Obituary for Elsie T. Schroeder

Elsie T.  Schroeder
Mrs. Elsie T. Schroeder, age 90 years, of Jefferson City, Mo, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 3, 3016 at her daughter’s home surrounded by her family.

She was born November 30, 1925 in Rich Fountain, Mo. the daughter of Andrew and Elizabeth Koerber Neuner. She was married on June 29, 1946 in Rich Fountain, Mo. to William L. Schroeder who preceded her in death on May 6, 1999.

Elsie was a life long resident of the Central Missouri area.

She was a proud homemaker to her family and co-owned and operated Veltrop’s Motel since 1961. She had also been employed at Von Hoffman Press.

She loved listening and playing the piano. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include: two sons: Ralph Schroeder and his wife Susie of Jefferson City, Mo. and Kenneth Schroeder and his wife Karen of Jefferson City, Mo.; one daughter, Diane Schroeder and her significant other, Danny Hunt of Jefferson City, Mo.; five grandchildren, Gregory Schroeder and his wife Cheryl, Jason Schroeder, Clint Schroeder and his wife Amy, Brad Bowman and his wife Sarah, and Bryan Bowman and his wife Ashli; seven great grandchildren, Olivia Schroeder, Lauren Schroeder, Henry Schroeder, Taylor Bowman, Lucy Schroeder, Drew Bowman and Nate Wilbanks. She will also be missed by her beloved dog, Lady.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four sisters, Mary Ann Wegman, Jennie Bremer, Hilda Boehmer, and Laura Rudroff, one brother, Zeno Neuner, and one great grandson, Braden Gregory Schroeder.

A private funeral service was conducted Saturday, August 6, 2016 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Boniface Nzabonimpa officiating. Entombment was in the Mausoleum of Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Forget Me Not Sanctuary in Linn Creek, Mo. or the Callaway Hills Animal Shelter in Callaway County, Mo.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
