Obituary for Rick Bowles

Rick Bowles
Mr. Ricky Lee Bowles, age 60 years, of Russellville, Mo. passed away Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Oak Tree Villas, surrounded by his family.

Rick was born on August 16, 1955 in Springfield, Mo. a son of Otto and Leah Jean (Morris) Bowles. He grew up in Springfield and Sedalia, Mo. and graduated from Parkview High School.

Rick was married on October 11, 1986 in Springfield, Mo. to Sheryl L. Toole. Soon after, Sheryl’s job moved them to the Jefferson City area where they fulfilled their dream of buying land, having horses, and building their home.

He was employed with Casey’s General Stores, Inc. as a service technician for over 25 years retiring in 2014. Rick had a strong work ethic and prided himself on being a dedicated and loyal employee, which was shown by his 10 year perfect attendance record with no vacation or sick days taken.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; the Moniteau Saddle Club; and the Democratic Party.

Rick loved the outdoors especially when trail riding on horseback, working in his garden, or caring for his pet dogs. He also enjoyed cooking and dining out with friends, traveling to the tropics and watching Judge Judy. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and leaving a smile on everyone’s face.

Survivors include: his loving wife of almost 30 years, Sheryl Bowles; two sisters, Peggy Brewer (husband Jerry) and Patty Bowles, both of Blue Springs, Mo.; two nephews, Joey Anchetta and Jacob Brewer; one niece, Ashley Moe; a God-daughter, Kaitlyn Voss; his great-nephew and great-niece, Nikita and Mia Anchetta; his good friends, Danny and Lori Davis; and his beloved dogs, Sasha and Gimley.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 7, 2016.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at the First Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. Robert Erickson and the Reverend Dr. David Henry officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
