Obituary for Malcolm B. Epstein Jr.

Malcolm B.  Epstein Jr.
Mr. Malcolm B. “Mal” Epstein, Jr., age 77 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Monday, August 1, 2016 at the Capital Region Medical Center.

Mal was born December 30, 1938 in Kansas City, Mo. the son of Malcolm B., Sr. and Claire Mann Epstein. He was married on August 2, 1963 to Mary Valentine. On April 10, 1976, he married Linda Stuckenschneider.

A life long resident of the Jefferson City area, Mal was a graduate of Jefferson City High School and a graduate of the University of Missouri at Columbia.

Through his career of forty-nine years, he was employed as a stockbroker with the firms of Scherk, Stein, & Franc; Stiefel Nicholaus; Fahnestock; Oppenheimer; and Smith Moore until his retirement.

Mal was a volunteer with the Friends of Amtrak. He enjoyed model railroading, miniature painting, reading, history, and archeology.

Survivors include: his wife, Linda Epstein; two sons, Matt Epstein of Bowling Green, Mo. and John Epstein and his wife Amy of Clark, Mo.; one daughter, Margaret Epstein of San Diego, California; and one brother and two sisters.

Visitation will be at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 am Saturday, August 6, 2016.

Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11:30 am Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Riverview Cemetery with the Reverend Harvel Sanders officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the Jefferson City Animal Shelter, Veterans of Foreign Wars, or The Fisher House.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
