Obituary for Joan Dennison

Joan  Dennison
Mrs. Joan V. Dennison, age 81 years, of Jefferson City, Mo., died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Adams Street Place surrounded by her family.

Joan was born February 8, 1935 in Old Monroe, Mo. the daughter of Fred and Genevieve (Mensie) Burkemper. She was married on November 15, 1961 in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina to Benjamin F. Dennison.

She has been a resident of the Jefferson City area for over forty years. A homemaker, she had been employed on a part-time basis with J.C. Penney and Tolson Drug Store.

Joan was a member of St. Martins Catholic Church. She enjoyed traveling and going to the casinos. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include: her husband of fifty-four years, Benjamin F. Dennison; two children, Jeffery C. Dennison and his wife Julie of Nixa, Mo. and Lisa J. Hentges and her husband Dale of Mokane, Mo.; four grandchildren, Derek B. Dennison, Brittany Sweet and her husband Ty, Troy Hentges, and Cory Hentges; three great-grandchildren, Kinley Sweet, Scarlett Sweet, and Evie Sweet; and one brother, Donald Burkemper and his wife Sue of Ozark, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, M. LaVerne Burkemper and
her twin sister, Jean Pazdernik.

Visitation will be at St. Martins Catholic Church from 10:00 until 11:00 am Tuesday, July 26, 2016.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at St. Martins Catholic Church with the Reverend Ed Schmidt officiating. Graveside services and entombment will be conducted at 1:00 pm Tuesday at the Mausoleum of Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Martins Catholic Church.
