Obituary for Joyce A. Parish

Joyce A.  Parish
Joyce Ann Parish, age 56 years, of Jefferson City, Mo. passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by her family.

Joyce was born on July 13, 1960 in Jefferson City, Mo. a daughter of Opal (Hall) and Robert L. Parish, Sr.

A lifelong resident of Jefferson City, Joyce graduated from the Vogelweid Learning Center at St. Peter School and attended Helias High School.

She was proud to work at Capitol Projects for 28 years until 2006. She was excited to help with their Christmas decorating each year and appreciated the people and friends she met while working there.

Joyce enjoyed coloring and was musically talented; specifically her ability to play the organ. Camping, fishing, and being outdoors provided some of her favorite memories with family and friends. She always cherished time with her family and had a great love of animals, especially her family pets.

Survivors include: one sister, Debby Roettgen (husband Sam) of Jefferson City, Mo.; one brother, Gerald Parish (wife Pat) of Jefferson City, Mo.; three nephews; four great nephews; two great nieces; and numerous friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Robert Parish, Jr.; and an infant sister.

Visitation will be held at Freeman Mortuary from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016 in the Freeman Chapel with the Reverend Dr. Monte Shinkle officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be held at Greenmore Memorial Gardens in Barnett, Mo.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice Compassus or the Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Association.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Freeman Mortuary.
